Quinnipiac Avenue Traffic Calming Project
Quinnipiac Avenue serves as a major transportation corridor along the east side of New Haven. The City is currently in construction on a $2.6M project that will mill and pave Quinnipiac Ave from Townsend Ave/Fairmont St to Foxon Boulevard, provide traffic calming through the use of raised crosswalks, raised intersections, and speed tables, provide pedestrian crossing improvements by re-aligning intersections and shortening crossing distances, and install new curbs and sidewalk where necessary. Construction began late June 2024 and will take approximately 3-4 months to complete.
