July & August Bulk Appointments

Unfortunately, we are not scheduling bulk appointments during the months of July and August as we focus on seasonal projects. If you have bulky items, you wish to dispose of please stop by our office to pick up coupons which can be used at the Transfer Station free of charge if you are a New Haven resident. We apologize for any inconvenience. 

Public Works mission is to improve the quality of life for New Haven’s Residents. Through the work of its’ dedicated employees, New Haven Public Works will plan, develop, maintain, and operate public infrastructure and services in a manner that is resourceful and efficient for the environment. New Haven Public Works’ goal is to exhibit the City’s values and preserve the City’s assets for future generations.

The mission is supported through following areas:

Resident Services/Admin Division
Reports and responds to residents’ issues, questions, and resource needs

Streets Division
Provides daily delivery of services to support maintaining the Right-of-Way

Refuse Division
Providing efficient collection of household waste including mixed solid waste, single-stream recyclables and seasonal waste thereby promoting clean and healthy neighborhoods.

Maintains department’s fiscal health, revenue and accountability

Bridge Division
Reliable operations of the New Haven bridge system (including three movable bridges) for safe usage by vehicles and pedestrians.

Fleet Maintenance
Supports efficient maintenance of all rolling stock and motorized equipment.

Right of Way/Public Space Enforcement
Ensuring that ROW follow City Ordinances as it pertains to sidewalks, refuse collection, snow removal, signage, civil uses and safety.

Eviction Services
Storage of personal goods through legal evictions performed in the City of New Haven and ensures that the chain of custody is established in accordance with State and local regulations and laws.
