The mission of the Assessor’s office is to discover, list and value all real estate, business personal property, and motor vehicles to establish a fair and equitable distribution of the local property tax burden.

Vision Government Solutions

The City of New Haven has hired Vision Government Solutions, Inc to conduct the 2021 Revaluation of all real estate. As part of that process, data mailers are being sent out to property owners to review

Valuation

All property, except that classified as farm, forest, open space or maritime heritage land is assessed at 70% of its fair market value.

Assessment Date

October 1st is the uniform assessment date in the State of Connecticut.

Grand List

The Grand List contains the assessments, exemptions and ownership information of all property in the City as of the assessment date.
