Dear New Haven Residents:

New Haven works together as a community of caring and compassionate people. So many New Haven citizens actively and proactively involve themselves in City Government. The City of New Haven has 45 different Boards and Commissions. Over 300 New Haven residents, representing every neighborhood and all walks of life, volunteer countless hours serving our exceptional city.

These posts range from the Board of Education, the Housing Authority of New Haven, the Police Board to the Commission on Disabilities, Historic District Commission and many more. Whether the post be highly or less visible, the function and position by citizens who serve are vital to the heartbeat of the city.

Please take time to read about the various Boards and Commissions. The current membership of each is also listed, along with expiration dates. We are always looking for people to serve in one of these posts. There is no pay, but the rewards are great!

For any question please email, Barbara Montalvo, or contact at: 203-946 -7670.

Very truly yours,
Mayor Justin Elicker
