All City of New Haven vendors who wish to enroll in the PPP will receive prompt payment of their invoices in exchange for a small discount offered on the goods and/or services they provide to The City.

Participating vendors are given the flexibility to choose the discount percentage they wish to offer in exchange for payment being initiated the day the invoice is approved verses 45 days after a valid invoice was submitted.

Dynamic discounting to determine the appropriate sliding-scale rebate for each invoice paid based on the total amount of the invoice and how quickly the payment is initiated. This ensures the program is always fair and equitable for both the vendor and the City of New Haven.

Example

• Vendor Invoice amount is $5,000
• Vendor offers a 1.5% discount if paid in 10 days.
• The table below demonstrates how a discount is dynamically calculated based on two dates:
• Date a valid invoice is submitted to the City of New Haven. See the City’s invoice policy to identify what a valid invoice is.
• The Date the payment is released electronically by the City of New Haven

To illustrate this, we’ll assume that a valid invoice was submitted on January 1.

• Payment is made January 05th – Invoice is discounted $85.71 - vendor receives a payment of $4,914.27 for being paid in 5 days
• Payment is made January 10th – Invoice is discounted $75.00 - vendor receives a payment of $4,925.00 for being paid in 10 days
• Payment is made January 20th – Invoice is discounted $53.57 - vendor receives a payment of $4,946.43 for being paid in 20 days
• Payment is made January 30th – Invoice is discounted $30.14 - vendor receives a payment of $4,967.88 for being paid in 30 days
• Payment is made February 09th – Invoice is discounted $10.76 - vendor receives a payment of $4,989.29 for being paid in 40 days
• Payment is made February 14th – Invoice is discounted $00.00 - vendor receives a payment of $5,000.00 for being paid in 45 days
