Created in 1996, REX was formed as the economic development entity for the fifteen towns served by the South Central Regional Council of Governments (SCRCOG).

REX’s territory is a vibrant region of small cities, suburbs and rural communities situated between New York and Boston. The region encompasses all of the cities and towns between Milford to Meriden to Madison.
