Food Truck Inspections

At this time the Fire Marshal’s office is inspecting food trucks Monday through Friday from 07:00 a.m. until 09:00 a.m.

Once at Fire Headquarters, please have the owner call the main # @ 203-946-6232 to contact an inspector to meet them in the parking lot.

Once in the parking lot, the inspector will inspect the food truck alone to maintain social distance.

The inspector will photograph a valid photo ID and the signed certificate, which will then be emailed and uploaded into a network drive.

Code Enforcement

Code EnforcementThe Department has the responsibility to enforce many sections of Chapter 541 of the Connecticut General Statutes including numerous codes imposed by these statutes. Annual inspections of buildings and plan reviews of proposed buildings for compliance with State statutes and regulations are conducted to rectify conditions which may cause fire situations that may allow a fire to spread uncontrolled.

The primary goal of these inspections is to ensure the safe egress of occupants who may be endangered by the fire or its products. The Fire Marshal, Deputy Fire Marshal, Life Safety Compliance Officer, Public Assembly Inspector, Inspectors are certified to carry out these objectives as assigned.

The local fire marshal is required to annually inspect all buildings and facilities of public service and occupancies regulated by the Connecticut State Fire Safety Code. The State Fire Safety Code covers all occupancies except one and two family dwellings and premises used for manufacturing.
