NEW HAVEN, Conn. – In preparation for this evening snow, the city of New Haven will institute a downtown parking ban. The ban will begin tonight, Thursday at midnight and last through 3 PM on January 7th. The city’s blue light parking ban notification system will be activated at 6 PM this evening and enforcement by the Traffic, Transportation, and Parking department will begin at midnight. “We’re strongly encouraging all residents to honor this parking ban,” said Mayor Justin Elicker. “Parking bans help our crews plow closer to the edge of the street. Failure to fully clear this snow can have a compounding effect with additional storms.”
