In collaboration with the State of Connecticut, the City of New Haven will activate the Extreme Heat Protocol beginning today, Wednesday, July 26th, at 8:00 AM.
All City libraries and Senior Centers will serve as cooling centers during normal business hours as listed below. The protocol will remain in effect until Sunday, July 30th, at 8:00 AM.
City Shelters will extend hours of operation and expand capacity as per protocol.
It is recommended that those vulnerable populations remain hydrated and limit direct exposure to sunlight. Keep pets hydrated and limit hot ground contact.
