*** TRAFFIC NOTICE / ADVISORY ***

Please be advised that due to the need to create a safe work zone for construction on two new mixed-use residential buildings, Chapel Street between Church Street and Orange Street will be closed to eastbound vehicular traffic beginning this Sunday, April 16th. The closure will extend approximately 16 months during construction at these two sites, 808 and 848 Chapel Street.

Eastbound vehicular traffic will be detoured to Elm Street.  Westbound traffic will be maintained.

There will be no change to public bus routes. 

The sidewalk on the south side of Chapel Street will also be closed, and pedestrians will be detoured to the sidewalk on the north side. 

Once completed, these two long-standing vacant lots will be redeveloped to provide over 160 new housing units, ground-floor retail space, additional parking, and an improved streetscape along a key commercial corridor
