Board of Directors

The RWA board of directors is comprised of five-members.

The Mayor of New Haven is permitted to make only one appointment to this board and that appointee must be approved by the Board of Alders. Term of board membership is three years.

The board is responsible for overseeing the adoption of annual operating and capital budgets and provides strategic direction.

Representative Policy Board

The RWA policy board is composed of one representative from each of the twenty municipalities in our region plus one member appointed by the Governor of Connecticut.

The board is responsible for appoint the five members to serve on the Regional Water Authority; approving land sales, rate increases, bond sales and any capital project with a cost in excess of $2 million; appointing the Office of Consumer Affairs as well as the external auditor; and ratifying the appointment of the chief executive officer.
