The Environment Advisory Council is comprised of thirteen members: City’s Chief Administrative Officer, City Engineer, City Plan Director, one member from the Board of Alders, six mayoral appointees that reside in New Haven, and three alternates. Members are appointed by the mayor and approved by the Board of Alders.
The commission works to collect, analyze, interpret, publish, and disseminate base line information concerning historical, existing, and projected environmental conditions concerning air, water, solid waste, noise, and use of natural resources in the city.
